New Images at Where It's Art

Hey Everyone

It's been in the works for a few weeks no but finally some of my images are being shipped very soon to Where It's Art stores in Calgary. I am good friends with the Harris family, heck Mrs. Harris calls me her fourth son, anyways they own the Where It's Art chain in Calgary and wanted to see some of my work on sale.

So I sat down with them and went through images and we decided on 5 for the run to see how the appeal to the customers.

Each image will be printed onto canvas and mounted on stretcher bars, the two images of Calgary's skyline will be in panoramic form as 12x36, as for the rest they will be 24x36.

I am not entirely sure of pricing at this point but I am sure they will be in the ball park of $149 or so. They will come with certificates of authenticity saying that yes I actually took them, they will be a limited run of 100 at most per image, as well I will be signing each I believe.

So if you feel like one head down to a Where It's Art location and pick one up, help support a local artist, Thank You!

Another Piece Sold

Hey Guys and Gals

So today was a great day for me, I was talking to a couple at the art gallery that were looking to decorate and they had purchased a bunch of items from us already when they noticed my card on the desk. I let them know that I am a photographer and I do family sessions, couples, etc,
and if they wanted to see a sample of my work they could look at the images on the wall.

I took them over explained a bit about the images and right away the gentleman said he wanted one. This was awesome, it really feels good to know that my work appeals to people other than just myself, and to know that the image will be hung and enjoyed by someone and their family.

So if by chance this couple comes across my blog, since I gave them my card...lol, THANK YOU!

Haunted House

Hey Bloggers

The other day I went to my little cousins 6th birthday party and on my way I drove past an old abandoned house. Naturally I decided to come back and shoot it, so today I was able to make my way down and check out the house.

A spooky sight just in time for Halloween.

"Double Window"???

It seamed fitting to see the Reno that the family before started years ago abandoned, it seams to reflect the global current state .

This image spoke to me on the same level, in trying times the weaker of societies members cope with devastation by resorting to narcotics.

I hope you enjoyed this entry, and value a little bit more just how much we have in our lives and understand that it needs to be cherished each day, I know I have.

Ghost Town

Hey Bloggers

The other day a client walked into gallery and saw some of my work, we began to chat about good areas around Alberta to shoot abandoned buildings. She told me about a small town 2 hours away from Calgary called Dorothy, at it's peak the town had 100 citizens but now it is home to less than a dozen.

The town is in the middle of the Alberta "Badlands" Canada's largest source of fossils, if you want to see some of the landscape check out my Badlands blog back in sept.

First stop was an old grain elevator that is now out of service, it was on the side of the road just outside of town.

Next I rolled into the town and pulled up to a run down church, I swear I saw a ghost and it looked mad at my presence.... lol

Inside I found a old desk looks like it was used for sunday school.

The church was pretty empty as far as abandoned churches go, but there were a few trapped souls leftover.

When I left I came across a long stretch of hwy that was probably a good 4km, I decided to try out a make shift car ad. Now keep in mind I parked the car in the middle of a hwy and only had a few minutes until a car came honking me out of the way.

Well I was satisfied with the results of the day. I have a few more images to work on but I will get on them right away, plus I will be putting together a behind the scenes video as well.

I hope you enjoyed.

Competition News

Hey Guys and Gals

So I have some BIG news today I just got an email from the Metro Photo competition showing that they picked one of my photos for the "photo of the day".
There are around 140,000 photographers signed up to the contest as of last friday, so that means at least that many people from around the world just got that very same email.

I am super excited that is probably the coolest thing thats happened so far for me.

So check out:

Boudoir Teasers

Hey Everyone

I have been noticing that it's becoming more and more popular to have Boudoir photos done, this elegant private photography is an adventure and exploration for the woman taking that journey.

Providing a safe and calming environment a woman is given the ability to indulge in her own beauty and sensuality, for these women allowing themselves to be free it is one of the most empowering experiences  they can have... other than maybe mother hood... lol

Here are some samples of past shoots some not technically Boudoir but a wonderful journey for these women none the less.

If you are interested in a Boudoir session feel free to contact us for any questions.

The Moody Prairies

Hey Hey Hey

Well winter is on its way...... It was freezing today and the storms brining the snow are headed our way. So before that happens I took time before work this morning to snap a few shots of this farm plot by my work.

It helped a lot to have all the angry clouds mixing in the sky to add that moody feel I like to capture.

Have a look
